On 12/13, we sent out an email to known friends, colleagues, and  
associates of Eleanor Parker announcing that the League of Women Voters  was 
establishing a one-time memorial scholarship to honor  Eleanor's life-long 
commitment to social and environmental justice.  The Eleanor Parker Memorial 
Scholarship will be awarded to a  young woman senior student at Oakland Tech 
with a 
demonstrated interest in  public policy, public administration, or a similar 
academic area; and who is  going on to college. 


Many  of you have responded positively, but with all the activity around 
the Holiday  season, some of you may not yet have had time to send in your 
donation. As we  mentioned previously, we have a hard deadline in order to make 
the Oakland Tech  Spring scholarship cycle. 


We just  wanted to send out this friendly reminder so that you do not miss 
the deadline  in case the activities of the Holiday season have diverted 
your attention. We  know you want to remember Eleanor just as we do – to honor 
her  life-long commitment to good government and social equity. Make a 
donation by January 6, 2017 to help us meet and  exceed our minimum financial  
goal of $2,500. We are almost there, but we can’t reach it without  you.
